HUNTSVILLE, Texas, Sept. 29, 2016 – The September women’s national team camp began yesterday at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch, an official U.S. Olympic Training Site. The camp is the first since Team USA’s historic nine-medal haul at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, including the team gold medal. Olympic champion Valeri Liukin, who was named USA Gymnastics’ women’s national team coordinator earlier this month, will lead the camp.

The focus of the camp will be to help provide guidance on skill selection and proper execution, along with feedback for routine construction as athletes begin to prepare for the first phase of the 2017 competitive season under a new Code of Points. The camp will begin with physical abilities testing.
