BRESCIA, Italy, June 7, 2021 – Nicole Ahsinger of Lafayette, La./Trampoline and Tumbling Express secured the U.S. women a spot in the Tokyo Olympic trampoline competition with a bronze-medal performance at the 2021 Brescia World Cup at Italy’s Centro Spotivo San Filippo over the weekend. In clutch fashion, the World silver medalist delivered a 53.905 in Saturday’s final to unofficially clinch the spot. USA Gymnastics anticipates the International Gymnastics Federation will make the official announcement later this month.
Ahsinger and teammate Jessica Stevens of Ellicott City, Md./Fairland Gymnastics also finished fourth in the women’s synchronized trampoline competition on Saturday with a 40.630. On the men’s side, World silver medalists Jeffrey Gluckstein of Atlantic Heights, N.J./Elite Trampoline Academy and Aliaksei Shostak of Lafayette, La./Elite Trampoline Academy took bronze in the synchro competition.
Japan’s Hikaru Mori claimed the top spot in women’s trampoline with a 55.110. Lea Labrousse and Marine Jubert of France led the way in women’s synchro with a 47.200, while Uladzislau Hancharou and Aleh Rabtsau of Belarus took the title in men’s synchro with a 52.900.
