U.S. men’s artistic, women’s artistic and trampoline and tumbling athletes gear up for competition around the globe this week.

MAG/WAG Baku World Cup

Four American gymnasts will be in Baku, Azerbaijan this week for the 2024 FIG Baku Apparatus World Cup from March 7-10. 2021 World pommel horse champion Stephen Nedoroscik (Worcester, Mass./EVO Gymnastics) and 2024 Winter Cup pommel horse champion Patrick Hoopes (Lehi, Utah/U.S. Air Force Academy) will each contend the apparatus in Baku. On the women’ side, Katelyn Jong (Allen, Texas/Metroplex Gymnastics) will compete on uneven bars and Reese Esponda (Missoula, Mon./Roots Gymnastics) on floor exercise.

Jong will kick off American performances Thursday, March 7 on bars with rotations beginning at 3 a.m. ET. Esponda, Hoopes and Nedoroscik will each take the floor on Friday for women’s floor and pommel horse also starting at 3 a.m. ET. Apparatus finals are set for Saturday and Sunday beginning at 3 a.m. ET each day. The top eight athletes per event will advance to each final round.

WAG International Gymnix

The 2024 Winter Cup junior women’s podium finishers will represent the U.S. at the 2024 International Gymnix March 9-10 in Montreal, Canada. Claire Pease (Sunnyvale, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics), Lavi Crain (Blue Springs, Mo./ Great American Gymnastics Express), Addy Fulcher (Gastonia, N.C./Bull City Gymnastics) and Tyler Turner (San Jose, Calif./Airborne Gymnastics Training Center) will compete for the country in team, all-around and individual event competition over the weekend.

Team and all-around awards will be determined Saturday, with competition beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET. Apparatus finals follow on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET. More information about the event can be found at internationalgymnix.ca.


T&T Winter Classic Invitational

More than 900 trampoline and tumbling athletes will converge in Oklahoma City March 7-10 for the 2024 Winter Classic Invitational. This year’s Winter Classic is one of three selection events on the T&T calendar, and results from the competition will determine rosters for the 2024 Pacific Rim Championships April 21-23 in Cali, Colombia, and the 2024 Pan American Championships May 17-19 in Lima, Peru.

Synchronized trampoline finals will take place Thursday, March 7 at 9 p.m. ET. Qualifications for individual trampoline, double mini and tumbling begin Friday at 10 a.m. ET, with finals slated for Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. The event website has more information about the 2024 Winter Classic.
