COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Nov. 8, 2008 – Favian Valdez of Orlando Metro, Rafael Javellana of Universal Gymnastics and Kiwan Watts of Richmond Regional Men’s Gymnastics won the all-around in the 10-, 11- and 12-year-old divisions, respectively, at the 2008 Future Stars Championships, held Nov. 7 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Valdez placed first in the 10-year-old division by posting a score of 83.350. Trystan Baker of Technique Gymnastics scored an 82.800 to finish second and Cory McFann of Hocking Valley Gymnastics earned an 81.500 to place third. The top 18 in the all-around were named to the Future Stars National Development Team and the top nine were invited to a camp that will be held this summer at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

Javellana claimed the all-around title in the 11-year-old division with a score of 82.200, followed by Tanner West of Alamo Gymnastics Center in second with an 81.300 and Marcos Gatinho of Universal Gymnastics in third with an 81.250. The top 18 in the all-around were named to the Future Stars National Development Team and the top nine were invited to a camp that will be held this summer at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

Watts earned a 78.250 in the 12-year-old division to best Noah Beeman of Gymnastics Training Center of Ohio and Austin Hodges of Buffalo Grove Gymnastics, who finished second and third, respectively, with scores of 78.050 and 75.950. The top 14 in the all-around were named to the Future Stars National Development Team and the top seven were invited to a camp that will be held this summer at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
