INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 8, 2015 – The USA’s six-man squad grabbed the team bronze medal at the 2015 Olympic Hopes Cup, in Liberec, Czech Republic this weekend. 2015 U.S. junior 15-16 all-around silver-medalist Shane Wiskus of Spring Park, Minn./Mini-Hops Gymnastics, won the event’s all-around bronze medal.
 
In addition to Wiskus, the U.S. squad featured:  Addison Chung of Medfield, Mass./New England Sports Academy; Bennet Huang of Palo Alto, Calif./West Coast Olympic Gymnastics Academy; Tanner Justus of Cypress, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics; Alexei Vernyi of Cypress, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics; and Matt Wenske of Houston/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics. Jacob Moore of West Bloomfield, Mich./Twistars USA, was the replacement athlete.

Held at the Sport Park Liberec Gymnastics Hall, the USA competed in the first subdivision and posted a 330.35.   The U.S. Team’s scored held up and they just missed the silver, losing to Great Britain by 0.1.  China won the team title with 337.00.

In the all-around, Wiskus posted an 83.350, falling behind China’s Ma Ziyue’s 83.500.  China’s Ma Yue took top honors at 84.550.  Including Wiskus, the USA had four men in the top 10 and all six placed in the top 13 in the all-around rankings.  Bennett was fifth at 82.600, with Wenske and Tanner in seventh (81.200) and eighth (81.150), respectively.  Vernyi was 11th at 80.250, and Chung was 13th at 79.400.
