INDIANAPOLIS, April 17, 2014 – This past weekend, Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, and Camilla Feeley of Lincolnshire, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, joined forces to claim the team bronze medal at the City of Pesaro (Italy) International Junior Tournament. In addition, Zeng picked up three individual event medals.

Zeng qualified to all four event finals and captured the silver medal for hoop and bronze medals for clubs and ribbon, as well as finished fourth in ball.

In the team competition, Russia won the gold with 99.282 points, followed by Belarus at 95.349 in second. The USA tallied 92.231 points for third, beating out Italy. A total of 26 countries participated in the team competition.

In the event finals, Zeng posted a 15.650 to claim the hoop silver medal. First place went to Belarus’ Stefaniya-Sofiya Manakhava (16.100), and Romania’s Ana Luiza Filiorianu was third (15.450). In clubs, Yulia Bravikova of Russia won the title at 16.150, followed by Belarus’ Maryia Trubach with 15.950. Zeng rounded out the top three at 15.700. Bravikova and Manakhava finished one-two in ribbon (16.400 and 15.800, respectively). Zeng’s 15.700 secured her bronze. Zeng just missed the ball medals podium when her 15.700 put her in fourth place. Bravikova was the gold medalist (16.600) and Trubach earned silver at 15.900, with Italy’s Letizia Cicconcelli taking the bronze.
