HOUSTON – Rhythmic gymnastics competition concluded at the Junior Pan American Gymnastics Championships today with Event Finals and Group competition.
USA’s Jessica Howard (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Lindsay Powell (Jacksonville, Fla.) shared the gold on ball scoring 9.050. Canada’s Roxoliana Prus took third with a 8.875.
Prus took the gold on rope with a 8.933. Danielle Lord (Tualatin, Ore.) and Howard earned the silver and bronze medals respectively with scores of 8.90 and 8.850
Prus captured the gold medal on hoop with a 9.050. Canada’s Amy Dipalma took second with an 8.933 and Howard won bronze with a score of 8.850. Lord took eighth with an 8.675.
Lord took second to Prus with her ribbon routine scoring 8.950 to Prus’ 9.00. Dipalma took third with an 8.917. Powell was fifth with a score of 8.817.
In the Group competition, four teams entered the event with Canada taking top honors scoring a 17.450. Venezuela was second with a 16.80 and Chile was third with 16.733.
