INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Nov. 17, 2007—USA Gymnastics named the U.S. Women’s Team that will compete at the 2007 Junior Pan Am Championships, Nov. 19-26, in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

 

The U.S. Women’s Team consists of: Olivia Courtney of Fairfax, Va.; Chelsea Davis of Austin, Texas; Mattie Larson of Los Angeles; and Jordyn Wieber of DeWitt, Mich. All are members of the U.S. Junior National Team.

 

At the 2007 U.S. Classic in the junior division, Courtney was second on vault (tie) and fourth in the all-around and uneven bars, and Davis was third on uneven bars. Davis also finished fourth in the junior all-around at the 2007 Visa Championships. Larson placed second on the uneven bars and third in the all-around in the junior division at the 2007 U.S. Classic, and finished third on the floor exercise at the 2007 Visa Championships in the junior division. Wieber placed second on the vault and balance beam (tie), and third in the all-around and uneven bars in the junior division at the 2007 Visa Championships.

 

The U.S. Men’s Team for the Junior Pan Am Championships was named in October. Its members are: Alexy Bilozertchev of Hilliard, Ohio; Glen Ishino of Santa Ana, Calif.; Steven Legendre of Flower Mound, Texas; and Danell Leyva of Miami, Fla. John Orozco of Bronx, N.Y., is the team alternate.
