Indianapolis, Ind. – Following the second national team training camp of 2000, USA Gymnastics has invited fifteen athletes to the next training camp, March 15-19, in Huntsville, Texas. The list of athletes attending includes:

  • Vanessa Atler (Canyon Country, Calif.)
  • Alyssa Beckerman (Cincinnati, Ohio)
  • Erinn Dooley (Gaithersburg, Md.)
  • Marie Fjordholm (Houston, Texas)
  • Kristen Maloney (Pen Argyl, Pa.)
  • Dana Pierce (Advance, Ind.)
  • Elise Ray (Columbia, Md.)
  • Sierra Sapunar (Wyoming, Ohio)
  • Tasha Schwikert (Las Vegas, Nev.)
  • Jennie Thompson (Cincinnati, Ohio)
  • Morgan White (Fairfield, Ohio)
Three athletes were invited to the March camp, but will not be attending. Amy Chow (San Jose, Calif.) and Annabeth Eberle (Reno, Nev.) are on international assignment to the Bluewater Invitational in Canada, March 15-19. Robin Phelps (Rockville, Md.) is rehabilitating her achilles tendon.
“It is clear that the athletes are taking their training seriously,” said Bela Karolyi, National Team Coordinator. “We are making progress toward our goal, but there is a lot of work remaining.”
“The program is accomplishing the goals we originally established,” said Bob Colarossi, President of USA Gymnastics. “We are moving into a crucial time frame in the athletes’ preparation, and confident that the outcome will produce positive results.”
