RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (July 10, 2022) – Junior all-around champion Rin Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) added apparatus titles on ball and ribbon Sunday, as the rhythmic competition at the 2022 Junior and Senior Pan American Championships concluded at Rio de Janeiro’s Parque Olimpico – Arena Carioca 1. U.S. athletes picked up seven individual medals during junior event finals, and the junior group added two bronze, bringing the four-day American haul to an even 20.

Keys followed up Saturday’s team and all-around titles with a three-medal performance Sunday. Her 30.050 on ball and 28.300 on ribbon outpaced all other competitors, while her 28.750 on hoop was bested only by teammate Megan Chu (San Diego, Calif./Ingenious RG), who captured gold with a 28.900. Chu (27.300) added a bronze medal on clubs. Jaelyn Chin (Aventura, Fla./Bessonova’s School) collected a pair of silver medals Sunday. Her 28.500 on ball earned her the runner-up spot behind Keys, while her 28.600 on clubs was just edged by Brazil’s Maria Eduarda Alexandre, who claimed the apparatus title with a 28.900. Ksenia Pototski (Brooklyn, N.Y./Isadora by Matchpoint) was fourth in the ribbon final with a 25.350.

The junior group comprised of Goda Balsys (Northbrook, Ill.), Annabella Hantov (Chicago, Ill.), Kristina Lee (Woodridge, Ill.), Isabelle Novoseletsky (Highland Park, Ill.) and Kalina Trayanov (Deerfield, Ill.), all from North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, collected their second and third bronze medals of the competition on the event’s final day. They notched a 21.750 on five ropes and a 23.150 on five balls. Brazil (26.800, 28.300) secured the top spot on both events, while the group from Mexico (24.300, 26.750) earned silver.
