DOHA, Qatar, March 25, 2014 — Marvin Kimble of Milwaukee, Wis./Swiss Turners Gymnastics Academy, Paul Ruggeri of Manlius, N.Y./ U.S. Olympic Training Center, and Donnell Whittenburg of Baltimore, Md./U.S. Olympic Training Center, will represent the USA in the Doha (Qatar) Challenge Cup, held March 26-28 at the Aspire Dome. Nearly 100 men are expected to compete in the three-day event, which is part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s World Cup series.

Here are the events each of the gymnasts is expected to compete: Kimble – pommel horse, parallel bars and horizontal bar; Ruggeri – floor exercise, vault and high bar; and Whittenburg – still rings and parallel bars.

Qualification is set for March 26, with the event finals split over March 27-28. The USA is not participating in the women’s competition. Tickets, which are free, are available at the City Center and Landmark Malls.

In addition to the USA, gymnasts from the following countries are expected to compete in Doha: Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iraq, Jordan, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Mongolia, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Romania, Singapore, Slovenia, Switzerland, Taipei, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Vietnam.
