BIRMINGHAM, England, Nov. 26, 2011 – U.S. junior trampoline athletes added another silver and two more bronze medals to the U.S. medal count at the 2011 Trampoline and Tumbling World Age Group Competition in Birmingham, England.
In the women’s 15-16 age group, Shaylee Dunavin of Amarillo, Texas/All American Gymnastics, posted a 50.800 in individual trampoline, placing third behind Russia’s Yana Pavlova and Great Britian’s Pamela Clark, earning a 52.530 and 51.870, respectively.
In tumbling, for the 17-18 men’s age division, Austin Nacey totaled 34.000 points to earn the bronze medal. Russia’s Mikhail Manin gained the gold as Denmark’s Anders Wesch won the silver with a 35.100 and 34.400, respectively.
In 13-14, men’s synchro pair Colin Duda of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./Ultra Twisters, and Cody Gesuelli of Middletown, N.J./Ultra Twisters, earned a second-place finish with a 42.300. Kazakhstan’s Pirmammad Aliyev and Alexandr Shinkarev placed first with a 43.800, and Russia’s Dmitry Kiknadze and Dmitriy Zenkin finished third with a 42.200.
The World Age Group Competition continues tomorrow with men’s and women’s 17-18 trampoline, men’s and women’s 11-12 tumbling, men’s and women’s 13-14 double-mini trampoline, and men’s and women’s 15-16 synchronized trampoline.
