MONTREAL, Que., Canada, March 7, 2009 – Samantha Shapiro of Los Angeles/All Olympia, won uneven bars at the World Cup in Montreal, Que., Canada, and Tim McNeill of Falls Church, Va./University of California – Berkeley, finished fifth on pommel horse. The finals in women’s balance beam and floor exercise and men’s vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar are March 8 at 2 p.m. ET.

Shapiro posted a 14.725 on uneven bars, followed by France’s Marine Petit in second at 13.650 and Canada’s Sydney Sawa in third at 13.450. Canada’s Charlotte Mackie won vault with a 14.150.

McNeill scored a 14.225 on pommel horse to place fifth. Hungary’s Krisztian Berki took top honors with a score of 15.775, with France’s Cyril Tommasone and Belgium’s Donna-Donny Truyens finishing second and third, respectively, with scores of 15.625 and 15.550. Romania’s Razvan Selariu won floor exercise with a 14.800 and France’s Danny Pinheiro Rodrigues claimed the top spot on still rings at 15.650.
