An endowed scholarship fund for women’s gymnastics at Southern Connecticut State University has been established in honor of Muriel Grossfeld, a three-time Olympian and a two-time Olympic coach. Grossfeld has also been a brevet judge and served on the USA national team staff.

“This scholarship is our way of honoring Muriel for her tremendous contributions to women’s gymnastics and to thank her for everything she has done for all of us,” said Sandy Thielz. “We owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude.”

“Muriel has dedicated her entire life to gymnastics at all levels from beginner through the Olympic level,” said Pat McGarry Panichas. “The rise of United States women’s gymnastics in world competitions and rankings is due in large part to her dedication and years of hard work as an athlete, coach, and judge.”

“We hope you will donate to this scholarship to help future generations of young women realize their dreams of competing in collegiate gymnastics and to honor Muriel as well,” said Debbie Bailey Spencer.
