Region 5 wins 2019 Junior Olympic Level 9 Eastern Championships Super Team title

Region 5 won the Super Team title at the 2019 Women’s Junior Olympic Level 9 Eastern have been determined at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Fla. A total of 16 champions – eight senior and eight junior – were crowned over the three days of the championships.

KISSIMMEE, Fla., May 12, 2019 – Region 5 won the Super Team title at the 2019 Women’s Junior Olympic Level 9 Eastern have been determined at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Fla. A total of 16 champions – eight senior and eight junior – were crowned over the three days of the championships. The championships featured the nation’s top Level 9 gymnasts in the Regions 5-8.

Region 5 won the Super Team title with 49 points, edging out Region 8 by one point. Region 7 was third at 36 points, and Region 6 placed fourth (28 points).

The Level 9 Eastern and Western Championships are the culmination of the Junior Olympic Level 9 competitive season. The Junior Olympic Eastern and Western Championships are two of USA Gymnastics’ championships events. Both championships feature the top seven gymnasts in the all-around in each age division from the respective regional championships and will have competition in 16 age divisions, which are determined by birth date.

The Greater Orlando Sports Commission, Orlando Metro Gymnastics and Osceola Heritage Park are organizing the Eastern Championships, which features the top Level 9 gymnasts from USA Gymnastics Regions 5-8. The states that comprise each region are: Region 5 – Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio; Region 6 – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont; Region 7 – Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia; and Region 8 – Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee.
