SAO PAULO, Brazil, May 2, 2015 – John Orozco of the Bronx, N.Y./Team Hilton HHonors (U.S. Olympic Training Center), and Akash Modi of Morganville, N.J./Stanford University, finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the parallel bars final at the World Challenge Cup at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Competition wraps up on Sunday at 10 a.m. with Modi competing in the finals for the floor exercise and pommel horse.

In the parallel bars final, Germany’s Lukas Dauser won the title with a 15.750. China’s Zhu Xiaodong and Francisco Barreto of Brazil took second (15.525) and third (15.300), respectively. Orozco posted a 15.275 for fourth, followed by Modi at 15.175 and fifth place.

China’s Xiao Ruoteng was the horizontal bar champion (15.125). Argentina’s Nicolas Cordoba took second with a 15.050, and the Dominican Republic’s Audrys Nin Reyes finished the top three with 14.975. Orozco landed in fifth with a 14.550.

Brazil’s Angelo Dias de Assumpcao won the men’s vault title (15.025).
