FT. WORTH, Texas, April 20, 2019 – The University of Oklahoma put an exclamation point on its 2018-19 season by winning the team title, giving them an undefeated season of 32-0, at the 2019 National Collegiate Women’s Championships at the Fort Worth (Texas) Convention Center Arena. This is Oklahoma’s third national title in four years.

The Sooners clinched the title with a four-event total of 198.3375. Louisiana State University’s 197.8250 edged out defending champion University of California – Los Angeles’ 197.5375. The University of Denver was fourth at 197.000.

Oklahoma had the highest team scores on three of the four events: vault, 49.6250; balance beam, 49.6125; and floor exercise, 49.6500. LSU had the best team mark for the uneven bars at 49.625. The top individual event scores were: OU’s Maggie Nichols for the balance beam (9.9625) and floor exercise (9.9500) and teammate Brenna Dowell on vault (9.9875); and LSU’s Sarah Finnegan on the uneven bars (9.9500).

The championships was hosted by Texas Woman’s University and Knight Eady.
