LAKE PLACID, N.Y., May 15, 2016 – Lili Mizuno of Brentwood, Calif./Community Youth Center won the junior all-around title at the 2016 Rhythmic National Qualifier at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y. The top 23 junior/hopes gymnasts punched their ticket to the USA Gymnastics Championships, the rhythmic national championships, June 8 – 13 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, R.I.

Mizuno finished day two in the top spot with a score of 62.150. She was followed by Elizabeth Kapitonova of Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora (60.100), and Kristina Sobolevskaya of Marina Del Ray, Calif./California Rhythms (58.850), placed third.

The National Qualifier is open to all Level 9 and 10 athletes in the Hopes, junior and senior age divisions. The qualifier concludes today with the senior competition. The top 13 senior athletes will advance to the USA Gymnastics Championships.

The senior national team members participating in today’s qualifier are: Natalie Bourand of Burr Ridge, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Heather Chan of New York City, N.Y./Isadora, Evita Griskenas of Orlando, Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Ekatherina Kapitonova of Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora, and Elena Shinohara of Suwanee, Ga./Rhythmic Brains.
