Chellsie Memmel

BEIJING, China, Dec. 3, 2007—Chellsie Memmel of West Allis, Wis., claimed the bronze medal on balance beam on the final day of competition at the Good Luck Beijing International Tournament in Beijing, China. Bridget Sloan of Pittsboro, Ind., finished fourth.

 

Memmel scored a 15.300 to finish behind China’s Cheng Fei and Australia’s Lauren Mitchell, respectively. Sloan posted a 14.925 to finish fourth.

Held at the National Indoor Stadium, the Good Luck Beijing International Tournament is the test event for artistic gymnastics for the 2008 Olympic Games, giving each country an opportunity to see the Olympic competition venue in action.
