ST. LOUIS, June 24, 2021 – Brody Malone of Belfast, Tenn./Stanford University topped the all-around field by nearly a point Thursday at The Dome in St. Louis. The reigning NCAA and U.S. national champion posted an 85.250 on Day 1 to lead all competitors at the midway point of the competition. Shane Wiskus of Spring Park, Minn./U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center (84.300) and Yul Moldauer of Wellington, Colo./5280 Gymnastics (83.650) rounded out the top three, while six-time U.S. all-around champion Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, Calif./U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center finished the night in fourth.

Mikulak and Malone posted the top score on floor exercise with a 14.600. Specialists Alec Yoder of Indianapolis, Ind./Ohio State University (15.050) and Alex Diab of Glen Ellyn, Ill./University of Illinois led the way on pommel horse and still rings, respectively. Donnell Whittenburg of Baltimore, Md./Salto Gymnastics notched the night’s highest scoring vault with a 15.050. Wiskus’ 14.500 on parallel bars paced the field, while Malone set the bar on horizontal bar with a 14.450.

The men return to action Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. CT on The Olympic Channel. The broadcast will continue on NBC at 4. The men’s Olympic team will be announced at the conclusion of Saturday’s competition.
