INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 28, 2017 – Serena Lu of Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora, finished seventh in the all-around standings today at the 2017 World University Games in Taipei, Taiwan. Lu also advanced to the finals in ribbon and ball. The USA’s Brigita Budginas of Agoura Hills, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics, finished 14th in the all-around standings. Rhythmic competition continues tomorrow in Taiwan with the event finals.

In the all-around, Lu’ s 58.800 landed her in seventh place. Additionally, Lu advanced to two event finals, qualifying third in ball (16.600) and sixth in ribbon (14.400). Russia’s Iuliia Bravikova won the all-around title (71.200), followed by teammate Ekaterina Selezneva at 69.175. Hanna Bazhko of Belarus claimed the bronze medal with her 62.700. Budginas tallied a 53.225 to finish 14th.
