HUNTSVILLE, Texas, Jan. 29, 2014 – The January USA Gymnastics Women’s Developmental Camp concluded yesterday at the USA Gymnastics National Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch, a U.S. Olympic Training Site. Forty gymnasts and their coaches participated in the four-day training camp. Under the direction of 1988 Olympic gold medalist Valeri Liukin, Developmental Team Coordinator, the camp opened with physical abilities testing followed by two-a-day training sessions.
The top three athletes in physical abilities testing were Megan Freed, Parkettes Gymnastics; Maile O’Keefe, Salcianu Academy of Gymnastics and Shania Adams, Buckeye Gymnastics.
Most improved camper was Jordan Chiles from Naydenov Gymnastics coached by Erika Bakacs.
The next camp for Developmental Camp will be held in late March at The Ranch.
