BERCY, France, March 19, 2011 — 2010 World horizontal bar finalist Danell Leyva of Miami advanced to the horizontal bar finals at the International Gymnastics Federation World Cup in Bercy, France, located near Paris, on March 20.

In the preliminary round, Leyva, who competes for Team Hilton HHonors, posted the day’s highest high bar score of 15.866. The top four finishers in the prelims qualify for the final round. The other three gymnasts in the horizontal bar finals are: Epke Zonderland of the Netherlands (15.833); Marijo Moznik of Croatia (14.766); and Jeffery Wammes of the Netherlands (14.433).

The final rounds are Sunday, March 20, and feature four finalists per event, beginning at 2:30 p.m. local time. Invitations to the World Cup were based on performances at the 2010 World Championships, and 12 athletes compete on each apparatus in the preliminary round.
