HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., July 26, 2013 — Adeline Kenlin, North Liberty, Iowa/Iowa Gym-Nest, and Alyona Shchennikova, Colorado Springs, Colo./TIGAR, won the 10-11 and 12-13 age-category all-around titles, respectively, at the 2013 U.S. Challenge at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The U.S. Challenge, which features competition in the Hopes program, was held in conjunction with the Secret U.S. Classic at the Sears Centre Arena.

Shchennikova’s 88.725 clinched the 12-13 category all-around crown. The silver medal went to Samantha Davis of Cranford, N.J./North Stars, who earned an 88.150. Milan Clausi of Salt Lake City, Utah/USA Gym World, finished third at 85.400. Shchennikova also captured the gold medal for both the uneven bars (13.000) and the floor exercise (13.500), along with the bronze on vault.

In the 10-11 category, Kenlin scored an 85.900 to win the title. Olivia Dunne of Hillsdale, N.J./East National Academy, was second at 82.350, and Shilese Jones of Renton, Wash./Auburn, rounded out the top three at 80.225.

Kenlin also took top honors for three of the four event finals: uneven bars, 12.250; balance beam, 14.600; and floor, 13.200. Jones won the vault title with her 13.800.

The all-around was based on a two-day score, however the individual event rankings were based solely on finishes on July 26.
