Hernandez added to the U.S. Junior Women’s National Team

Laurie Hernandez of Old Bridge, N.J./MG Elite, has been added to the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team by Martha Karolyi, the U.S. women’s national team coordinator, following a recent national training camp.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas, July 4, 2013 – Laurie Hernandez of Old Bridge, N.J./MG Elite, has been added to the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team by Martha Karolyi, the U.S. women’s national team coordinator, following a recent national training camp.

Hernandez, who is coached by Maggie Haney, won the junior all-around competition at the 2013 Elite National Qualifier, held at Parkettes Gymnastics in Allentown, Pa. In 2012, she finished eighth in the junior all-around standings at the American Classic and tied for a share of the silver medal on the balance beam.
