Temple University’s men’s gymnastics program has a long and storied tradition, and the team and its supporters are working so that the tradition can continue. The team’s supporters have launched a fundraising drive, and three challenge grants have just become available: $3,000, $25,000, and $70,000. If the fundraising effort meets those amounts, the donors will match them.

It is easy to join the fight to save men’s gymnastics at Temple by making a donation now. You can donate at templegymnastics.com, through Facebook (facebook.com/Tuggymnastics) or by stopping by the team’s table at the 2014 Men’s Junior Olympic Gymnastics Championships. You can also keep track on Twitter with #SaveTUMG.

The donated funds will be managed by the Philadelphia Foundation. Although the long-term goal is to have men’s gymnastics reinstated as a varsity sport, the administration has not given any guarantees that will happen. If reinstatement doesn’t happen, the funds will support the team as a club team while the supports continue to fight for reinstatement.

Temple’s men’s gymnastics program enjoyed its first season in 1925-26, and if you act now, you can help them continue on.
