LISBON, Portugal, March 30, 2015 – Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, won two bronze medals this weekend at the Lisbon International Tournament in Lisbon, Portugal. Griskenas, who qualified to all four apparatus finals, finished third in both the hoop and the clubs.



In the hoop final, Griskenas posted a 15.600 for third behind Russia’s Alina Ermolova and Belarus’ Julia Evchik. Griskenas’ 15.800 was good for the bronze in clubs. Ermolova and Evchick took gold and silver, respectively. Griskenas finished fourth in ball (15.300) and seventh for rope (14.300).



2014 Youth Olympic Games bronze medalist Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, and two-time World all-around finalist Jazzy Kerber of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, competed in the World Cup competition held in conjunction with the Junior Invitational. Zeng finished 14th in the all-around with a 66.850, while Kerber was close behind in 17th with a 66.400. Zeng’s highest mark came in the hoop, where she posted a 17.100. She narrowly missed advancing to the hoop final after losing a tie-break for eighth place to Belarus’ Hanna Bazhko.



The U.S. senior rhythmic group also took part in the World Cup competition. The North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center-based group, which consists of Kiana Eide of Northbrook, Ill.; Alisa Kano of Glencoe, Ill.; Natalie McGiffert of Northbrook, Ill.; Monica Rokhman of Northbrook, Ill., Jennifer Rokhman of Northbrook, Ill.; and Kristen Shaldybin of Chicago, finished 12th in the all-around, scoring 28.550.
