DALLAS, Texas, Aug. 15, 2009 – Ava Gehringer of Evanston, Ill., won her first senior all-around title with 197.675 total points at the 2009 Visa Championships in the Dallas (Texas) Convention Center. Gehringer, who trains at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, followed in her former teammate Lisa Wang’s footsteps winning the all-around with a commanding lead, as well as all four event finals.

Rachel Marmer of Los Angeles of Calif./Eurogymnastics, posted 188.975 points to finish second, just edging out Julie Zetlin of Bethesda, Md./Rhythmflex, who was third with 188.175.

Michelle Milstein of Eagan, Minn./International Gymnastics of Minnesota, finished her first senior national championships in fourth (176.700), and Anastasia Torba of Orinda, Calif./Allegro Rhythmics, placed fifth (175.175). North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center’s JoAnna Arnold of Evanston, Ill., landed in sixth (174.300). Sarah Kudishevich of Eden Prairie, Minn./International Gymnastics of Minnesota, was seventh (170.125), and Gabriella Magid of Brooklyn, N.Y./Isadora, rounded out the top eight with an all-around score of 170.000.

The all-around score includes both the preliminary and final rounds. The top eight ranked rhythmic gymnasts qualified for the U.S. Rhythmic Gymnastics Senior National Team.
