MEDELLIN, Colombia, April 27, 2018 – 2016 Olympic alternate Camilla Feeley of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center and Elizabeth Kapitonova of Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora, lead the senior and junior rhythmic all-around standings, respectively, after the first day of competition at the 2018 Pacific Rim Championships in Medellin Colombia. All-around and team competition continues tomorrow with the clubs and ribbon routines, beginning at 11 a.m. ET.

Feeley finished day one in the top spot with a two-event score of 32.117, just ahead of Heather Chan of South Pasadena, Calif./Emerald City Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics, who earned a 31.700. Feeley posted the day’s top qualifying score for ball with her 16.150, performing to “Bad to the Bone.” She tallied a 15.967 for her elegant hoop routine, advancing to the final in second place. Chan’s 16.817 was the top qualifying score for hoop, and she advanced to the ball final in second position with her 14.833.

Kapitonova’s 31.716 tops the junior leaderboard after day. She posted the highest qualifying scores for both hoop (15.583) and ball (16.1330). Shannon Xiao of Fairfax, Va./Gymnastics World, is in second place with her 28.983 total, advancing to the ball final with her score of 15.033. She finished fifth with hoop (13.950) but will not advance to the final due to the two-per country rule.

Lennox Hopkins Wilkins, Puyallup, Wash./Evergreen Rhythmics, sits in fourth position in the all-around standings at 21.833. She earned the second qualifying spot for the hoop final with her 15.133. Matylda Marszalek of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, is sixth in the all-around at 25.250 (14.000, hoop; 11.250, ball).
