CAIRO, Egypt, March 16, 2022 – Men’s National Team members Alex Diab (Glen Ellyn, Ill./U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center), Paul Juda (Deerfield, Ill./University of Michigan) and Ian Lasic-Ellis (Dover, Mass./Stanford University) will represent the U.S. this week at the FIG Apparatus World Cup in Cairo, Egypt. Diab and Lasic-Ellis are fresh off of Winter Cup apparatus titles on still rings and floor exercise, respectively, while Juda earned College Gymnastics Association Gymnast of the Week honors March 9 and the Big Ten equivalent March 14.

The U.S. can field up to two athletes per apparatus. The top-eight scorers in each event during qualifications Thursday and Friday will advance to this weekend’s apparatus finals. Diab will compete on floor exercise, still rings and vault, while Juda is set to take on pommel horse, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar. Lasic-Ellis will compete on all apparatus except for vault.

Men’s qualifications for floor exercise, pommel horse and still rings are set for Thursday at 11 a.m. ET at the Cairo International Stadium. Athletes will qualify on men’s vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar Friday, beginning at 10 a.m. ET. The floor final will be held Saturday at 7 a.m. ET followed by pommel horse at 8 a.m. ET and rings at 9:15 a.m. ET. Sunday’s men’s vault final will be held at 7 a.m. ET with the parallel bars final slated for 8:15 a.m. ET. Competition will wrap Sunday with the horizontal bar final at 9:30 a.m. ET.
