HUNTSVILLE, Texas, June 3, 2013 – Nia Dennis of Westerville, Ohio/Buckeye Gymnastics, has been added to the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team by Martha Karolyi, the U.S. women’s national team coordinator, following a recent national training camp.
Dennis, who is coached by Kittia Carpenter, Li Li, Sasha Timchenko and Phillip Todorov, finished seventh in the all-around at the 2012 U.S. Championships, as well as placing fifth on the balance beam and eighth in the floor exercise. At the 2012 Nastia Liukin Cup, she placed was fifth in the all-around. Dennis swept the all-around and individual event gold medals at both 2012 Buckeye Classic and the 2012 Glider Invitational, with the exception of the vault at the Glider Invitational where she was second.
