NORMAN – The defending national champion Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team entered its 2017 season refocused and ready to embark on a title defense. On Friday, the No. 1 Sooners got off to a good start, shining in a 197.750-196.700 victory over No. 3 Alabama in front of 3,515 fans inside Lloyd Noble Center.

BATON ROUGE – No. 2 LSU gymnastics (1-0) put on a show in front of more than 7,000 fans with a score of 197.825 to break the school record for an opening meet score in the Tigers’ victory over No. 9 Georgia Friday night inside the Maravich Center.

LOS ANGELES – Pauley Pavilion was pure gold today, as Olympic gold medalist Madison Kocian won the all-around and three events in her collegiate debut to lead No. 4 UCLA to a season-opening victory over Arkansas, 195.7-195.35.

RALEIGH – The NC State gymnastics team opened its 2017 season inside the newly renovated Reynolds Coliseum on Sunday afternoon as it hosted No. 5 Florida. This was the first time since February of 2015 that the Wolfpack has competed inside its home venue, as the team finished with a meet total of 194.925 and the Gators posted a 197.100.

SALT LAKE CITY–Utah gymnastics fans waited a long time to see MyKayla Skinner compete in a Utah leotard. She made the wait worth every minute in her collegiate debut, leading lead No. 6 Utah to a 196.625-195.525 win over No. 7 Michigan.

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 8 Auburn gymnastics team opened the 2017 season in Auburn Arena Friday night and fell to No. 13 Oregon State, 195.575-195.275.

MINNEAPOLIS – The No. 16 University of Minnesota women’s gymnastics team fell to No. 14 Denver in the season opener, 195.875-194.725, on Saturday night at the Sports Pavilion.

TUCSON, AZ — Tonight the Arizona GymCats opened their 2017 season at home against Texas Woman’s University and Utah State. The GymCats won the meet with a score of 194.025 to Utah State’s 191.600 and TWU’s 189.500.
