#5 LSU 196.875, #1T Florida 196.575 – Jan. 11, 2013
BATON ROUGE – It came down to the final performers for each team, and in the end it was the fifth-ranked LSU gymnastics team that rallied for the upset win over No. 1 Florida, 196.875-196.575, in front of 4,074 fans Friday night inside the Maravich Center.

#1T Michigan 196.900, Nebraska 196.300 – Jan. 12, 2013
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Behind two event winners and an all-around win from junior Joanna Sampson, the No. 1-ranked University of Michigan women’s gymnastics team put up its highest regular-season score since 2008, dispatching defending Big Ten champion Nebraska, 196.900-196.300, on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 12) inside Crisler Center.

#3 Oklahoma 193.700, Arizona State 193.625 – Jan. 12, 2013
TEMPE, Ariz.–With several career-highs set for the Gym Devils, Arizona State dropped their season-opening meet to No. 3 Oklahoma 193.625-196.700, Saturday, at Wells Fargo Arena.

#4 UCLA 197.425, Utah 195.300 – Jan. 12, 2013
Los Angeles, Calif. – No. 2 UCLA upended No. 5 Utah in a dual meet on Saturday evening in Pauley Pavilion, scoring a national season-best 197.425, while Utah scored 195.300.

#6T Georgia 196.200, Arkansas 195.775 – Jan. 11, 2013
The University of Arkansas gymnastics team fell to 6th-ranked Georgia 196.2-195.775 in the Southeastern Conference home opener and the first meet of the season.

#6T Stanford 196.025, #14 Arizona 195.850, Illinois 193.750, San Jose State 192.550 – Jan. 12, 2013
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona women’s gymnastics team took second in the first home meet of the season in front of a record high crowd of 1,890 fans. Stanford won the meet with a score of 196.025, followed by the Cats with a 195.850, then Illinois with a 193.750 and San Jose State with a 192.550.

#9 Kentucky 195.525, #16 Auburn 194.250 – Jan. 11, 2013
No. 16 Auburn gymnastics fell to No. 9 Kentucky, 195.525-194.250, in the home opener for the Tigers and the SEC opener for both teams Friday in Auburn Arena.

#10T Central Michigan 195.050, #13 New Hampshire 193.100 – Jan. 11, 2013
MOUNT PLEASANT – Spurred by a strong performance on the uneven bars, the Central Michigan gymnastics team claimed its second consecutive impressive win to start the 2013 season, defeating visiting New Hampshire, 195.050-193.100, on Friday evening at McGuirk Arena.

#10T North Carolina State 195.000, Maryland 195.500 – Jan. 11, 2013
RALEIGH, N.C. – For the first time since the 2005 season, the NC State gymnastics team finished the meet tied with its opponent as the Wolfpack and the Maryland Terrapins each concluded the night with a final team score of 195.000.

#15 Denver 196.600, Air Force 191.025 – Jan. 12, 2013
DENVER – The No. 20 University of Denver gymnastics squad combined for a 196.600 to top Air Force (191.025) on Saturday night at Hamilton Gymnasium.

#20 Oregon State 195.375, #17 Ohio State 195.000 – Jan. 11, 2013
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 20 Oregon State gymnastics team got back to their winning ways in Friday night’s home opener against No. 17 Ohio State, defeating the Buckeyes 195.375-195.000.

#18 BYU 194.075, Utah State 189.425 – Jan. 12, 2013
PROVO, Utah (Jan. 12, 2013) – In the first home meet of the season, redshirt sophomore Megan Bain helped lead the BYU women’s gymnastics team over Utah State 194.075-189.425 at the Smith Fieldhouse on Saturday in front of 1,120 fans.

#19 Penn State 194.150, Illinois-Chicago 191.700 – Jan. 12, 2013
CHICAGO – Catherine Dion posted a 9.825 on the balance beam to pace the Flames in the event and tie for first place in the opening meet versus No. 19 Penn State Saturday inside the Physical Education Building. The Nittany Lions outlasted UIC 194.150-191.700.


MEN’S GYMNASTICS

#1 Illinois 425.450, #15 Illinois-Chicago 385.750 – Jan. 12, 2013
CHICAGO – The UIC men’s gymnastics team held their first meet of the season on Saturday at the Physical Education Building against Illinois. Despite their efforts, the Flames came up short in a 425.450-385.750 final to the Illini.

#3 Oklahoma 423.500, #9 Nebraska 418.900, #11 Air Force 405.500 – Jan. 12, 2013
USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Backed by two Academy record-matching scores on the vault, the 11th-ranked Air Force men’s gymnastics team claimed a season-opening score of 405.500 to place third at the 32nd annual Rocky Mountain Open on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Cadet West Gym.

#4 Penn State 447.750, #13 Army 403.700 – Jan. 12, 2013
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; January 12, 2013 — A new scoring system will ring higher scores to arenas across the country this season and the Nittany Lions proved that point on Saturday (Jan. 12) evening inside Rec Hall. Penn State scored a 447.750-403.700 victory over Army in the season opener, winning five of the six individual events and tallying the highest team total on all six apparatus.

#5 Stanford 425.000, #6 California 411.150 – Jan. 13, 2013
BERKELEY – The California men’s gymnastics team lost their opening meet to the Stanford Cardinal, 425.000-411.150.

#14 William & Mary at State Open – Jan. 13, 2013
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Jan. 13, 2013) – The William and Mary men’s gymnastics team opened its 2013 season with a good showing at the State Open at Kaplan Arena on Sunday afternoon, as three Tribe gymnasts combined to claim five individual event titles.
