WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS

#1 Florida 197.500, Penn State 195.300, #13 N.C. State 194.075 – Jan. 28, 2011
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The No. 1 University of Florida gymnastics team used season-high marks to claim four of the five event titles Friday in the Fifth Annual Gators Link to Pink meet. All those marks helped boost the Gators’ team score to a season-best 197.50, which gave UF the tri-meet title.

#2 Stanford 196.825, #4 Utah 195.500 – Jan. 28, 2011
SALT LAKE CITY – Tied after three rotations, second-ranked Stanford put together the highest event score of the night on the beam to move past Utah 196.825-196.500.

#3 Georgia 195.550, Kentucky 195.000 – Jan. 28, 2011
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky gymnastics team scored its highest team score of the year, but the Wildcats fell just short to No. 3 Georgia 195.550-195.000 in Memorial Coliseum on Friday.

#5 Oklahoma 196.175, #16 Washington 195.100 – Jan. 28, 2011
SEATTLE – Despite their best vault and beam scores of the season, the No.16 UW gymnastics team fell in a tight dual meet to No. 5 Oklahoma 196.175-195.100 Friday night at Alaska Airlines Arena.

#6 Alabama 196.825, #10 Nebraska 195.600, LSU 195.550, Missouri 194.350 – Jan. 29, 2011
FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 6 ranked Alabama gymnastics team used a season-high 196.825 to win the Metroplex Challenge in the Ft. Worth Convention Center, outscoring the next closest team by more than a point in front of a partisan Alabama crowd.

#9 UCLA 196.675, #7 Oregon State 196.625 – Jan. 28, 2011
ORVALLIS – The Oregon State gymnastics team, ranked No. 7 in the nation, gave the defending national champion UCLA Bruins all they could handle but the Beavers fell to the Bruins 196.675-196.625 in front of a crowd of 7,128

#8 Michigan 195.875, #11 Kent State 194.675, Maryland 193.800, UIC 189.875 – Jan. 29, 2011
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The No. 8-ranked University of Michigan women’s gymnastics team defeated its highest ranked opponent of the year and swept the rest of the competition at the Michigan Quad with a 195.875 score.

#12 Arkansas 195.325, Auburn 195.150 – Jan. 28, 2011
AUBURN – Auburn senior Rachel Inniss posted a pair of 9.900’s to claim individual titles on balance beam and floor to help the Tigers score a season-high 195.150 in a loss to 12th-ranked at Auburn Arena Friday. The Razorbacks also posted a season-best with a 195.325.

Arizona 195.375, #14 Boise State 194.400 – Jan. 28, 2011
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Women’s Gymnastics team earned first place over the Boise State Broncos. U of A posted a season high score of 195.375, while BSU earned a 194.400.

#19 Illinois 194.775, #15 Iowa 193.475 – Jan. 29, 2011
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – In its home opener on Saturday, the No. 19 Illinois women’s gymnastics team topped No. 15 Iowa on all four events on its way to a 194.775-193.475 victory in front of 1,162 fans at Huff Hall.

BYU 194.925, #20 Iowa State 194.925, #16 Southern Utah 194.275, Utah State 191.900 – Jan. 29, 2011
PROVO, Utah (Jan. 29, 2011) – The BYU women’s gymnastics team (8-1-2) continued to show they are a force to be reckoned with this season tying No. 20 Iowa State and defeating No. 16 Southern Utah and Utah State in their first home meet of the season with a season-high 194.925.

#18 Minnesota 195.575, Air Force 191.500 – Jan. 29, 2011
MINNESPOLIS, Minn. — The Golden Gopher women’s gymnastics team earned its best score this season with a 195.575 en route to winning the meet against Air Force, who scored 191.50, its best score this season.


MEN’S GYMNASTICS

#3 Illinois 354.900, #9 Iowa 339.400 – Jan. 29, 2011
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Competing at home for the first time this season, the No. 3 Illinois men’s gymnastics team (8-0) gave its fans plenty to cheer about as it downed ninth-ranked Iowa (2-5), 354.900-339.400 Saturday afternoon at Huff Hall.

#4 Oklahoma 344.650, #7 Minnesota 336.750 – Jan. 29, 2011
NORMAN, Okla. — The fourth-ranked Oklahoma men’s gymnastics team remained undefeated in 2011 on Saturday after defeating No. 7 Minnesota and Team Texas at the McCasland Field House.

#5 Penn State 351.800, #13 Temple 341.400, #16 Army 259.500 – Jan. 30, 2011
PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men’s gymnastics team looked more than comfortable performing in the friendly confines of McGonigle Hall, as the Owls posted a season-high team score of 341.400 to place second in a home tri-meet with Penn State and Army.

#10 Nebraska 342.150, #11 Air Force 335.300 – Jan. 29, 2011
LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Men’s Gymnastics team topped the Air Force Falcons 342.15-335.30 Sunday afternoon at the Devaney Center. The mark of 342.15 is a season high for NU.

#16 Army 330.900, #17 Springfield 327.500 – Jan. 28, 2011
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Junior Chase Brown captured a pair of wins as the No. 15 Army gymnastics team snapped a six-meet losing streak to No. 16 Springfield, dating back to 2008, in outpointing the Pride 330.9-327.5 Friday evening at Gross Sports Center.
