BERKELEY – No. 1 UCLA defeated the Cal women’s gymnastics team, 196.675-192.500 in front of 736 fans inside Haas Pavilion in the 2012 home opener Sunday afternoon.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The defending NCAA Champion Alabama gymnastics team got its 2012 season started with a down-to-the-wire win over Georgia, 196.475-196.325 in front of 14,501 fans in Coleman Coliseum.

#3 Florida 196.175, Illinois-Chicago 191.875 – Jan. 13, 2012
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Four different Gators picked up apparatus victories Friday, as the preseason No. 3 Florida gymnastics team (2-0, 0-0 SEC) opened the 2012 home season with a 196.175-191.875 win over Illinois-Chicago in front of a Stephen C. O’Connell Center crowd of 4,796.

#7 Oregon State 196.525, #4 Oklahoma 195.975 – Jan. 13, 2012
CORVALLIS – The No. 7 Oregon State gymnastics team upset No. 4 Oklahoma 196.525-195.975 snapping the Sooners’ nation-leading 32 straight regular season win streak.

#5 Utah 197.400, Utah State 191.925 – Jan. 13, 2012
SALT LAKE CITY — Utah coach Greg Marsden was looking for the ceiling in the Huntsman Center after his No. 5 Utes drilled Utah State 197.400-191.925 before a crowd of 13,126. He couldn’t see one.

#6 Nebraska 197.375, #20 Denver 195.225 – Jan. 13, 2012
LINCOLN, Neb. – The sixth-ranked Nebraska women’s gymnastics team opened the 2012 season in record-setting fashion, besting No. 20 Denver, 197.375-195.225, at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Friday night.

#8 Stanford 194.900, San Jose State 194.300, Sacramento State 191.575, UC Davis 190.775 – Jan. 15, 2012
STANFORD, Calif. — A pair of 9.9 scores, by junior Ashley Morgan and senior Nicole Pechanec, highlighted Stanford’s season-opening victories before a packed gym. Stanford, which hasn’t lost at Burnham in four years, scored 194.900 points, and was followed by San Jose State (194.300), Sacramento State (191.575), and UC Davis (190.775).

#10 Michigan 195.500, #18 Ohio State 195.175 – Jan. 13, 2012
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Fueled by a 49.225 team score on floor during the fourth rotation, the No. 10-ranked University of Michigan women’s gymnastics team rallied to defeat archrival Ohio State, winning 195.500-195.175, on Friday night (Jan. 13) in the season opener inside Crisler Center.

#11 Arkansas 196.65, Kentucky 191.975 – Jan. 13, 2012
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas had a big night on bars and floor, and the No. 11 Razorback gymnastics team recorded its fifth win of the season over a top 25-ranked opponent with Friday’s 196.65-191.975 victory over No. 23 Kentucky in its Southeastern Conference opener in Barnhill Arena.

#12 LSU 195.025, #17 Auburn 193.800 – Jan. 13, 2012
BATON ROUGE – Freshman Lloimincia Hall produced a 39.200 to capture the all-around title as the LSU gymnastics team defeated Auburn 195.025-193.800 Friday night in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

#13 Penn State 196.125, New Hampshire 194.250 – Jan. 15, 2012
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire gymnastics team registered a season-high 194.25 points, but 13th-ranked Penn State totaled 196.125 points to pull out the victory at Lundholm Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.

#14 Boise State 194.400, #16 Washington 193.425 – Jan. 13, 2012
BOISE, Idaho – The No. 14-ranked Boise State gymnastics team had a strong start to its 2012 season defeating No. 16 Washington at home, 194.40 to 193.425.

#15 Illinois 194.725, Minnesota 192.800 – Jan. 14, 2012
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 15 Illinois women’s gymnastics team started the year off with a bang, tallying the highest season-opening score in program history and defeating No. 22 Minnesota 194.725-192.800 on Saturday at Huff Hall.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Highlighted by a record-setting performance from junior Scott Rosenthal (Clearfield, Pa.), the No. 6 Penn State men’s gymnastics team successfully opened the 2012 season with a 349.800-321.600 win over Army on Saturday night at Rec Hall.
