BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, Oct. 11, 2018 – Brandon Briones of Gilbert, Ariz./Aspire Kids Sports Center, finished in fourth place in men’s gymnastics all-around at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Gymnastics continues tomorrow with the women’s all-around. Briones returns to competition on Oct. 13 with the event finals. Live scoring and results are available through the official website. Japan’s Takeru Kitazono easily won the all-around gold with his 82.298 total. Russia’s Sergei Naidin came in second at 80.498. Brazil’s Diogo Soares edged out Briones for the bronze medal, 80.265 to 80.131. Great Britain’s Adam Tobin was fifth (79.573).

For the floor exercise, Briones claimed a 13.666 on his first event. He earned a 12.700 on the pommel horse, before notching a 13.033 for the still rings. On vault, he garnered a 14.333. He scored a 13.266 on the parallel bars. Wrapping up on the horizontal bar, he posted a 13.133 for his 80.131 total.

The competition schedule is listed with local Argentina time, which is one hour ahead of Eastern; when it is 12 noon in New York City, it is 1 p.m. in Buenos Aires. The multi-discipline team event serves as the qualification round for each discipline’s finals.

Oct. 12 – 5 p.m. – Women’s gymnastics all-around final
Oct. 13 – 5 p.m. – Finals for men’s floor exercise, pommel horse; women’s vault and uneven bars
Oct. 14 – 5 p.m. – Finals for men’s still rings and vault; men’s and women’s trampoline
Oct. 15 – 5 p.m. – Finals for women’s balance beam and floor exercise; men’s parallel bars and horizontal bar; acrobatic gymnastics, mixed pair
Oct. 16 – 5 p.m. – Rhythmic gymnastics all-around final
