STUTTGART, Germany, Oct. 10, 2019 – Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre, won her fifth World all-around title at the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. Biles has the record for most women’s World all-around titles and is just one behind Kohei Uchimura, who has six. 2019 World team gold-medalist Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn./Midwest Gymnastics Center, finished in eighth place. Sam Mikulak of Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center, and Yul Moldauer of Arvada, Colo./University of Oklahoma, will represent the United States in the tomorrow’s men’s all-around final at 4 p.m. local time, which U.S.-based fans can watch live on the Olympic Channel or online at 10 a.m. ET. There will be a delayed broadcast on NBCSN at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Biles now has 22 World medals in her arsenal, 16 of which are gold. Biles will be competing in all four event finals and has the opportunity tie or surpass Vitaly Scherbo’s record of 23 total medals.

In the all-around, Biles led from start to finish, picking up a total of 58.999 points, finishing 2.1 points ahead of runner up Tang Xijing of China (56.899). Biles had the highest score on three events, with the third best score on the uneven bars. Russia’s Angelina Melnikova was third at 56.399. Lee posted a 55.632 to round out the top eight.

  • Biles: all-around, 58.999; vault, 15.233; uneven bars, 14.733; balance beam, 14.633; and floor exercise, 14.400.
  • Lee: all-around, 55.632; vault, 14.466; uneven bars, 13.133; balance beam, 13.833; and floor exercise, 14.200.
  • The remaining finals schedule is: Oct. 11, men’s all-around, 4 p.m.; Oct. 12, event finals (men – floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings; women – vault, uneven bars), 4 p.m.; and Oct. 13, event finals (men – vault, parallel bars, horizontal bar; women – balance beam, floor exercise), 1 p.m. All times are local to Stuttgart.
