The first Youth Elite Squad Camp took place ten years ago at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York. A decade later, the rhythmic program had wrapped up the final Elite Squad Camp of 2017 at the National Team Training Center in Houston, Texas. Rhythmic Program Director, Caroline Hunt, recognized and celebrated the ten years of work by Elite Squad Coordinator Lana Lashoff and Ballet Master Sonya Yankova.

21 athletes and their coaches worked with the National Staff on their physical and mental skills in preparation for new the 2018 competition season. Focus was given to ballet, review of new routines, and positive communication strategies.

Coach workshops included artistic components, technical Execution, a review of SafeSport and the integration of the rhythmic sport performance complexes, as well as effective communication strategies.

Camp concluded with an evening making s’mores and Holiday ornaments in celebration of hard work, sportsmanship and enjoying the development process!

Special thanks to Rhythmic Program Coordinator, Jayme Vincent, for organizing and overseeing the Open and Elite Squad December Camps and to NTTC Director, Gary Warren, for setting everything up for a successful December of Development!
