INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., July 7, 2011 – A six-man U.S. Team heads to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, this weekend to compete in the 2011 Puerto Rico Cup, July 8-10.

Representing the USA are Dylan Akers of Houston/Cypress Academy, Adrian de los Angeles of Long Beach, Calif./SCATS HB, Andrew Elkind of Cherry Hill, N.J./U.S. Olympic Training Center at Colorado Springs, Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, Calif./University of Michigan, Tyler Mizoguichi of Houston/University of Illinois, and Brandon Wynn of Voorhees, N.J./Team Hilton HHonors.

Justin Spring of the University of Illinois and Grigor Chalikyan of SCATS HB are the coaches for the U.S. team.

This international competition features 75 gymnasts from 12 countries – Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, United States, and Venezuela. The men’s team and all-around competition are scheduled for July 8, with individual event finals slated for July 9-10. In the team competition, five gymnasts compete on each apparatus and the top four scores count toward the team score.
