HUNTSVILLE, Texas, May 31, 2015 – Based on performances at the 2015 American Classic at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch, an official U.S. Olympic Training Site, in Huntsville, Texas, a total of 16 gymnasts qualified for the 2015 P&G Gymnastics Championships, USA Gymnastics’ national championships, in Indianapolis, Aug. 13-16. The Secret U.S. Classic is scheduled for July 25 at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Ill., and is the final opportunity to advance to the P&G Championships.

Colbi Flory of Rockwall, Texas/Texas Dreams, won the all-around with a 56.700. Deanne Soza of Orem, Utah/Arete, took second at 56.600, with Morgan Hurd of Middletown, Del./First State, and Emma Malabuyo of San Jose, Calif./Texas Dreams, tying for third.

Senior Polina Shchennikova of Evergreen, Colo./Tigar, qualified for two events, vault and uneven bars, with a two-event total of 28.500.

The 15 juniors who qualified are listed below in qualifying order. To qualify for the P&G Championships, a junior needed to earn at least a 52.500.

Women’s gymnastics has several paths for athletes to qualify to the P&G Championships, including by earning at least a 54.000 for seniors or a 52.500 for juniors in the all-around at either the American Classic or Secret U.S. Classic. Senior athletes can also qualify by earning a three-event score of 41.250 or a two-event score of 28.000 at either of these two events.

Team members and alternates for the 2014 World Championships and 2015 Pan American Games (July 10-26, Toronto, Canada) are automatically qualified to the P&G Championships. Additionally, national team members can earn a berth to the P&G Championships by achieving the qualification score at a national team camp verification or international assignment.
