HUNTSVILLE, Texas, Nov. 28, 2016 – Forty gymnasts attended the last developmental camp of the year at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center, at the Karolyi Ranch, a U.S. Olympic Training Site. The athletes participated in two-a-day training sessions and physical abilities testing under the direction of National Team Coordinator and 1988 Olympic champion Valeri Liukin.

During camp verification, the gymnasts demonstrated their new skills, combinations and upgrades. All the gymnasts and coaches are working on final routine construction for the upcoming elite season. These athletes will compete as Hopes and junior elites in 2017.

During camp, the gymnasts were presented with team training leotards from GK Elite.

Physical abilities testing awards went to Jamie Wright of World Class Gymnastics, who was in first place, followed by Anika Pretty of First in Flight Gymnastics and Lillian Lippeatt of Cincinnati Gymnastics, respectively. Liukin and the national coaching staff also chose Jamie Wright for most improved camper.

The gymnasts will return to the training center in January as they prepare for the 2017 elite competition season.
