LISBON, Portugal, March 21, 2016 – 2015 World all-around and clubs finalist Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, finished seventh in the all-around and advanced to three individual apparatus finals this weekend at the 2016 Lisbon World Cup in Lisbon, Portugal.

Zeng, who was making her first competitive appearance since a history-making seventh place at the 2015 World Championships, posted scores of 17.600, hoop; 17.700, ball; 17.550 clubs; and 17.300, ribbon. Her 70.150 total put her seventh in the all-around standings. Russia’s Aleksandra Soldatova, who won two individual silver medals, in addition to team gold, at the 2015 Worlds, took top honors with a 76.650. Ukraine’s Ganna Rizatdinova was second, scoring 73.700, with Israel’s Neta Rivkin taking third at 73.350.

Zeng advanced to the hoop, ball and clubs finals and recorded her best finish with ball, sharing fifth place with Ukraine’s Viktoria Mazur. She was eighth in both the hoop and clubs finals.

2015 U.S. junior all-around champion Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, finished 21st in the all-around with a 66.000 total. Her best score came with clubs, where she earned a 16.650.
