Age-group T&T athletes head to England, while a trio of women’s artistic athletes compete in France this weekend.
Nearly 55 U.S. junior and senior trampoline and tumbling athletes will compete at the 2023 FIG Trampoline & Tumbling World Age Group Competitions and Junior World Championships November 16-19 in Birmingham, England.
Leading the American roster as past champions are 2022 World Age Group 13-14 double mini trampoline champions Skye Hawk and West Fowler, 2021 World Age Group 13-14 women’s individual trampoline champion Alexandra Mytnik, 2021 World Age Group 13-14 synchronized trampoline champion Will Cockrill, and 2018 World Age Group 11-12 women’s synchronized trampoline champion Logan McCoy. They will be joined by multiple U.S. division champions who look to add to their international accolades.
The 2023 T&T World Age Group Competitions begin Thursday, November 16 and run through Saturday, November 18. Based on results from the age-group competitions, the 1st T&T Junior World Championship will pick up on Sunday, where athletes will compete for World titles on each apparatus. The U.S. will send three juniors to compete at the 27th Combs la Ville International Tournament November 18-19 in Paris, France.
2023 American Classic junior all-around bronze medalist Claire Pease (Sunnyvale, Texas, WOGA Gymnastics), 2023 U.S. junior vault bronze medalist Simone Rose (Sammamish, Wash./Pacific Reign Gymnastics) and Ly Bui (Swisher, Iowa/Great American Gymnastics Express) will comprise the U.S. delegation, with Bui and Rose making their international debuts.
Action in France begins Saturday, November 18 at 9 a.m. ET, with the all-around and team competitions. On Sunday, the six best gymnasts per apparatus, limited to two per country, will vie for individual event titles beginning at 9 a.m. ET.
