More than 30 trampoline and tumbling athletes will represent the country at the Santarem World Cup and Scalabis Cup in Santarem, Portugal.

Santarem World Cup

Following the 2023 USA Gymnastics Championships, eight newly renamed Senior National Team members are set to compete at the Santarem World Cup July 1-2 in Portugal. 2023 U.S. individual trampoline champions Sarah Webster and Aliaksei Shostak headline a delegation that includes Olympian Nicole Ahsinger, reigning World double mini champion Ruben Padilla, 2022 World team silver medalists Cody Gesuelli, Isaac Rowley and Jessica Stevens and 2021 double mini team champion Trinity Van Natta. Leah Garafalo and Ryan Maccagnan will join the team as traveling replacement athletes.

The World Cup kicks off Saturday, July 1 with individual and synchronized trampoline qualifications beginning at 5 a.m. ET. Day 2 of qualifications will start Sunday, July 2 at 5 a.m. ET, followed by all finals beginning at 8 a.m. ET. The top eight athletes and pairs from qualifications, only two gymnasts/one pair per country, will advance to Sunday’s finals.

Scalabis Cup

The action in Portugal continues with the 2023 Scalabis Cup July 4-6, where 25 juniors and athletes in the 17-21 age group will participate in individual and double mini trampoline, and tumbling competition. Josie Bain, Leah Garafalo, Rayleigh Huette, Logan McCoy, Trevor Harder, Ryan Maccagnan, Zachary Ramacci and Jace Williams will represent the 17-21 age-group athletes, while Kate Arakawa, Will Cockrill, Ava DeHanes, Leah Edelman, Nate Erkert, Micah Miner, Alexandra Mytnik and Alexander Rozenshteyn highlight the junior roster.

In double mini competition, DeHanes, Edelman, Erkert and Miner will be joined by fellow juniors Asher Little, Isabella Pansano, Kennedi Roberts and Derek Ruehl, while Amelia Gasper, Annie Hansen, Skye Hawk, Brooklyn Jolley, Miner, Eli Nilson, and Ruehl will all compete in tumbling.

Competition in Santarem begins with two days of qualifications, Tuesday, July 4 at 8:40 a.m. ET and Wednesday, July 5 at 4 a.m. ET. Finals take place on Thursday, July 6 beginning at 4:30 a.m. ET. The top eight gymnasts in each division, only two per country, will participate in the final round. For team competition and awards, each country will add the top three scores per division from their athletes in qualifications for a combined team score.
