We are saddened to share the passing of long-time trampoline and tumbling coach and community member Jim Aamodt. Jim, with his wife Lori, owned and operated Gymnastic Academy of Rockford in Rockford, Ill. Throughout a coaching career that spanned decades, he mentored 18 world tumbling champions and more than 500 national champions. Twenty-five athletes who were coached by Jim were also named to the U.S. National Team.
Over the years, Jim developed training systems and equipment that were used extensively throughout the community and volunteered in numerous leadership roles. In 2016, Jim was inducted into the World Acrobatics Society’s Gallery of Legends.
Our thoughts are with Jim’s wife Lori and children Anthony and Bradee.
