HUNTSVILLE, Texas, Sept. 22, 2015 – The September developmental camp for women’s gymnastics concluded at the USA Gymnastics National Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch, an official U.S. Olympic Training site. Many of the developmental athletes enjoyed successful performances at the HOPES Championships, Secret U.S. Classic and P&G Championships this summer.

Under the direction of Valeri Liukin, director of elite developmental athletes, the gymnasts have already begun preparing for next year. Following the basics and physical abilities testing, the coaches and national coaching staff worked on upgrades of skills and combinations for the coming competitive year.

Kylie Coen of Empire Gymnastics, Aria Brusch of Cincinnati Gymnastics and Megan Freed of Parkettes took the top three spots, respectively, for physical abilities testing. Ellie Lazzari of GymNasti was named most improved camper thanks to her strong work ethic and the start of many new upgrades.

Armed with training plans, the athletes and coaches return home to prepare for the next camp in mid-October.
