STUTTGART, Germany, Oct. 6, 2019 – The qualification line-up for the U.S. men at the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, is official. The U.S. men compete in qualification Subdivision five (of eight) at 10 a.m. local time/4:a.m. ET on Monday, Oct. 7, which U.S. fans can watch live online on NBCSports.com and on the Olympic Channel. The U.S. men are shooting to finish in the top nine team spots to earn a team berth to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. China, Japan and Russia already qualified for Tokyo at last year’s World Championships. The U.S. women are competing in the women’s team final at 2:30 p.m. local time on Oct. 8. U.S.-based fans can watch the finals live at 8:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN and online.

The members of the U.S. Men’s Team are: Trevor Howard, Columbus, Ohio/Ohio State University; Sam Mikulak, Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center; Akash Modi, Morganville, N.J./Stanford University; Yul Moldauer, Arvada, Colo./University of Oklahoma; Shane Wiskus, Spring Park, Minn./University of Minnesota; and Allan Bower, Chandler, Ariz./University of Oklahoma, traveling alternate. The USA begins on the floor exercise, and Howard is competing two vaults.

Four athletes compete on each event, with three scores counting. The qualification round determines which countries advance to the finals for team (top eight), all-around (top 24, maximum two per country), and individual event finals (top eight per event, maximum two per country).

The U.S. women’s team includes: Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre; Jade Carey of Phoenix, Ariz./Arizona Sunrays; Kara Eaker of Grain Valley, Mo./Great American Gymnastics Express; Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn./Midwest Gymnastics Center; and Grace McCallum of Isanti, Minn./Twin City Twisters. MyKayla Skinner of Gilbert, Ariz./Desert Lights Gymnastics, is the alternate.

The finals schedule is: Oct. 8, women’s team, 2:30 p.m.; Oct. 9, men’s team, 1:45 p.m.; Oct. 10, women’s all-around, 4 p.m.; Oct. 11, men’s all-around, 4 p.m.; Oct. 12, event finals (men – floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings; women – vault, uneven bars), 4 p.m.; and Oct. 13, event finals (men – vault, parallel bars, horizontal bar; women – balance beam, floor exercise), 1 p.m. All times are local to Stuttgart.
