Harry Nelson

Harry Nelson made a coaching and judging career at a level most notable individuals do not— high school. He was head coach at Northeast High School (Philadelphia), where his teams won eight state championships, and he also was the coach of the Philadelphia Turners. In 1952, the Turners won gold at the National AAU Championships. Nelson also judged at all levels for 40 years, earning him an elected position as President of the Eastern Judges Association for five years. Nelson is a National Judges Association Hall of Fame honoree.
