John "Jack" Miles

Jack Miles was a four-sport athlete and excelled as a gymnast, perhaps because of his learned track, soccer, and diving skills. His creativity grants him credit for creating the “Whippet”— a backflip into an L-sit on the flying rings. After a career adorned with AAU and Pan American Games medals, Miles founded and was president of the Florida Gymnastics Association.
