Gus Kern

Gus Kern was one of American gymnastics’ first success stories. As an athlete, he scored in the top seven out of 100 Americans in the 1908 all-around Zwoelkampf World Competition, establishing himself as a forefather of the sport in the U.S. Kern later judged local meets in the greater Cleveland area and National AAU Championships. He is most recognized for his judging career, which totaled 50 years.
